PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority said Friday that all morning trips for Providence Schools will be running.

This comes after bus routes were canceled for two consecutive days, forcing students to find alternative ways to get to class.

Cristy Raposo Perry, the spokesperson for RIPTA, told ABC 6 News that the service disruptions were part of a national driver shortage.

Thursday, students at Central, Classical, Hope, and Mount Pleasant high schools were without bus service.

If school trips are canceled, students can ride any available RIPTA bus to Kennedy Plaza and then transfer to a route take takes them to their school.

Cancellations can be found on the public transit authority’s website.
