Kansas City man, Dmarius M. Bozeman, convicted of shooting, killing woman in February 2021



A Kansas City man was convicted of fatally shooting a woman inside a home on West Pennway with her three children in 2021.Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said in a news release that jurors on Thursday found Dmarius M. Bozeman, 34, guilty of second-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, as well as three counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Khasheme Strother. In February 2021, Kansas City police were called to the 1900 block of W. Pennway Terrace on a reported shooting and found two adults dead and third adult who was injured.According to court documents, the injured adult said he had called 911. In the 911 recording he indicates he shot the adult male, Ramond Hill, 19 in self defense and that he also shot Strother after he was jumped. Bozeman said Strother was his girlfriend and the other victim was her son. Three children were also in the home when the shooting happened.In court records, Bozeman told police he had been in a struggle with Strother and he fired what he thought were two warning shots, but saw she had been shot. Bozeman said he fired at Hill after he came back inside the residence and fired shots at him.The prosecutor’s office said Bozeman will be sentenced at a future date.
