Fireworks store up in flames after car crashes into it, Melbourne authorities say – Orlando Sentinel

A retail building devoted to selling fireworks is up in flames in Melbourne.

The Brevard County Fire Rescue department received a call at 4:30 p.m. regarding a fire at the Phantom Fireworks at 4433 W. New Haven.

Don Walker, a spokesperson for the fire department, confirmed a car crashed into the building and its driver was killed. Multiple news outlets have captured scenes of the fire and large clouds of dark smoke coming from the building.

No other injuries have been reported, Walker said in an email.

New Haven Road is closed at John Rodes Boulevard and U.S. 192.

This is a developing story.
